The BIZ-21 intrinsic safety barrier is a specialized device designed to ensure explosion-proof connection of sensors installed in hazardous (explosive) zones to control and monitoring systems located in a safe area.

💡 The BIZ-21-AO2 barrier is intended for signal protection of:

  • Direct current signals: 0–20 mA
  • Direct current signals: 4–20 mA

  • Protection of signal lines (input/output) between safe and hazardous zones
  • Galvanic isolation between zones
  • Limitation of current and voltage to levels incapable of causing sparks or heating that could ignite a hazardous atmosphere 
When ordering, it is necessary to pay attention to the maximum contact resistance of the sensor/actuator - its value should not exceed the permissible limits of the BIZ-21-AO2 barrier. If it is higher, the barrier will limit the input/output.
